An international project approved by the European Union, in cooperation with 4 European theatres from Greece, France, Poland and Bulgaria. The project started in 2011 and will end in 2014 during the 8th International Festival of Street and Puppet Theatre "Puppet Fair." In September of this year in Athens, Greece, there will be a premiere of the show "The Dragon" as part of the project. It is a street performance genre, with many attractions, major figures, stilts, and fireworks. On the part of Sofia Puppet Theatre there will be actors who will drive specially created puppets for "The Dragon" from the workshop of the theater. In itself, this project is a tremendous success for the Puppet Theatre because it is the first EU project won.
"Helidra" is supported by the project "Culture" of Sofia Municipality and is in support of the candidature of Sofia and the Southwestern Region for European Capital of Culture in 2019.
