DA Fest is an international festival organized by the National Academy of Art in Sofia which meets the Bulgarian audience with new tendencies and important achievements in the area of digital arts – digital video, interactive performance and installation, net art, sound art and etc.
The festival’s mission is to build a favorable cultural-educational space in the field of digital arts creating a platform for dialogue between artists, students, researchers, academics and critics who work in that area.
More than 100 artists and theorists from over 15 countries participated in the three previous editions in 2009, 2010 and 2011. The rich festival program brought to Sofia leading names of the international art scene and provided a unique opportunity to the Bulgarian audience to get acquainted with their creativity. In addition to the authors who came to Sofia, the event has remote participation through the film program of the festival.
The fourth edition of the festival will be held from 10 to 14 September at different locations of the central buildings of the National Academy on 1 Shipka Str. and will present contemporary artistic research, technologies and practices in digital art in a rich five-day program including an exhibition, performances, film screenings, presentations and workshops.
Among the participants in the new edition of the festival are: Bernd GP (Austria), Piotr Virzhikovski (Poland), Peter William Holden (England / Germany), Marco Donaruma (Italy / UK) GEUM Hyung-Jeong (South Korea), Rob Fisher (Germany) Sibin Vassilev and Fabian Blythe (Bulgaria / Germany), Petko Dourmana (Bulgaria), and many others.
