Award Ceremony 2013 § 80th Anniversary of the Translator's Birth

The Elizabeth Kostova Foundation is pleased to invite you to the annual Krastan Dyankov Translation Award Ceremony.

The ceremony will take place on 11 November (Monday) 2013, 7 p.m., at The Red House Centre for Culture and Debate, 15 Lyuben Karavelov Str., Sofia.

This year, in order to commemorate the eightieth anniversary of Krastan Dyankov’s birth (10 November 1933), his son Aleko Dyankov will grant a special one-time award for the translation of the song “Desolation Row” by Bob Dylan from English into Bulgarian.  

The annual translation award of the Elizabeth Kostova Foundation is named after Krastan Dyankov (1933–1999), a translator from English into Bulgarian, whose translated works bring us to know some of the great classics of the 20th century American literature. The award was established in 2007 and is given annually for an outstanding translation of a contemporary novel of high literary quality from English into Bulgarian. 

The award is supported by America for Bulgaria Foundation.
