We know that this is quite a challenge, but we are prepared to work together to become true European Capital of Culture in 2016. We believe we can achieve this given our cultural tradition, our European mentality, the interesting programme we have to offer, our capacity for innovation, our cultural sectors, our international festivals, and the refined cultural habits of our citizens and creativity of our people. Because we are a European city, open; a city transcending borders and frontiers, a territory that is the embodiment of cohabitation between two - three even - languages, rich in traditions, with its restless spirit; a territory that is cosmopolitan, environmentally aware and participative.
