Sharing MEMORIES

This programme embraces the concept of the archaeology of memory and seeks to strengthen citizens’and visitors’ affiliations to the city of Sofia; to uncover the missing pieces of incomplete historical narratives; to give voice to those who have been forgotten in history. It uses a social approach to culture to actively involve the various communities living in the city. This goal is to create relationships between the residents and the city’s history and cultural institutions, make the cultural offering relevant and authentic, and also highlight the serious theme of “revisiting history” from an inclusive and diverse perspective. We want to rediscover common values by assessing our experiences and attitudes springing from ethnic, religious, political, and national affiliations, which resonate all over Europe; we will do so through projects focused on citizen participation, debates, exhibitions, conferences, learning projects with schools, memories of history, large European networks projects.
